Hitachi Seaside Park

We had intentions on going to see the ocean. The kids have never seen it so we thought it would be a good thing to do. We set off for the beach, but the navi didn't cooperate. We ended up a little north of where we wanted to be. Unfortunately, that's where all the traffic was. By the time we passed this amusement park, we were all ready to get out of the car. They have different areas. We only made it to the gardens and the kiddie ride areas. Time flies... In the garden there was an area with thousands of tulips.

They had a giant ferriswheel, but the kids were afraid to go on it. Denny was certain that he was going to ride it... right up to the time we got close enough for him to see the actual size. It is a little overwhelming, even from the ground.

The kids begged up to go in the wading pool. We were a little under-equipped to deal with how wet they got. We asked that they try to not get wet... they were soaked. A very nice Japanese man saw up trying to dry them off and gave us two towels to use. We were very thankful.

Savannah and Denny on the firefighter ride. You were supposed to use your water to spray holes in the side of the ride. Whoever got the most water in won.

They had large animals that you could ride. You drop in 200 yen and they played music and walked around. The kids are able to steer them as well. Of course... each kid had to drive so we dropped $4 on walking bears.

Here are two videos. Notice the music on the second one. The line for this ride was short all day long. The kids would ride it 2 and 3 times each time we passed it. We all went to bed with the tune in our heads. tweet, tweet, tweet-tweet-tweet.
